A Small Slice of Paradise - Part 1

We just returned from a amazing trip to Playa Del Carmen, Mexico. We stayed at the Grand Sunset Princess all inclusive Resort. Playa is about 45 minutes south of Cancun, MX. We left on June 12th 2011 and returned June 18th 2011. It was seriously one of the best vacations I have ever been on. We ended up going down one day earlier then planned so the first night we stayed in the Jr. Deluxe Suite which was better then expected! We arrived at about 10:00 pm. So we hung out with Jason & Krista for a while, went down to the beach and then headed to bed! It had been a long day of traveling.

The next morning I snapped a few pictures of our room before we checked out and headed to our Platinum Suite Room. Both rooms were amazing but the perks with getting the Platinum Suite could not be beat!

Then we hit the buffet with J & K for breakfast and toured around the resort a little. It was so beautiful and soooo clean!


Me, Ash & Krista! Most of the pictures at the beach were taken with our underwater FILM camera so they aren't the best quality. Jeremy and Ashley arrived on the 13th after flying the red-eye all night and we headed right for the beach. The weather was HOT & HUMID but that didn't stop us from having a good time.

Joe and Jason brought little pieces of hamburger buns into the Ocean with them to feed the fish. I wish I could have gotten a better picture of how many fish were in front of them in this picture. They were like this clear, white ghost looking fish. There was hundreds of them. And after the bread was gone, they kept following us all over. It was a little creepy but cool. Jason was later dubbed the "White Ghost Fish Whisperer" and we kept teasing him saying, "Come to me my jungle friends" LOL!

I put the camera underwater and caught a few of the fish swimming up to Joe for some food.

Later that day we checked into our room in the Platinum section of the resort. These rooms were absolutely incredible!! Clean & Beautiful!! We did ask for a King sized bed and a top level room. But on the top floor, there are only a few rooms with king sized beds, so we were more then happy to settle for a room with two full sized beds just for the view we got from our balcony!

This is the bathroom. Full sized stand up shower and a giant jacuzzi bathtub.

This room also had a pretty good sized sitting area. Booking the Platinum rooms allowed us to have 24 hour (free) room service. Unlimited dinner reservations at their 7 themed restaurants, a private pool for Platinum guests, jacuzzi on the balconies, Roped off area at the beach with a private waiter that is willing to bring you cold drinks all day while you bask in the sun & one of the best part, a freezing cold Platinum lounge were you can relax, get on the internet, eat sandwiches and have unlimited cold drinks. Also we had a concierge named Alex who was AWESOME!! He always greeted us with a friendly, "Wazzz up?" whenever we came in and helped us with anything that we needed. He became a good friend of ours by the end of the trip. It was so nice after a long day of walking or being on the Hot Beach, to walk into the lounge and cool off. We found that most places that were indoors at the resort, including the restaurants were so freaking HOT. We actually purchased fans on 5th Ave. in Playa to use at dinner so we weren't all dying of heat and the 100% humidity!

Starting Over...

Soooo it has been a personal goal of mine to start blogging again! I'm not even going to worry about the 100 of posts that should have happened before tonight and since the last one. I am simply going to start on a clean slate and try really hard to get all of those important events and going on's happening in our little family from here on out, down on record. Tonight I've turned over a new leaf...hmmmm, now for a post! lol

The Pledge Of Allegiance...Addy Style!!

One day, out of the blue, Addy started saying The Pledge of Allegiance. We had no idea where she had learned it. She told us, "We say it in Preschool to the American Flag." I am amazed that she has it memorized when she has only been going to preschool for about 2 months and only 2 days a week. A few words need perfecting, but she has it down. Here it is for your viewing pleasure...haha!

Christmas Eve & Christmas 2009

On Christmas Eve we started the evening with a party at Joe's Aunt Laurie's house. We enjoyed some great food and conversation and then we were off to my parents house. They had more good food and we play the traditional Christmas Bingo game. We won a lot of fun stuff. Including a knife set, Cineamark gift card and a shave set. Then the our little ones got to open one present. We then headed home to get ready for bed and make sure that things were in place for the visit from Santa.
Christmas Day was very eventful. It always includes 2 breakfasts starting at 9:30am, one at Joe's moms and then one at Great Grandma Bonnett's. A trip to Great Grandma Bills' house, Opening gifts at Grandma & Grandpa Bonnett's house and then finally landing at our house around 6:00pm. We then have Joe's and my parent's over to see the gifts that Santa left. We love that we have so much family here to share this time of year with, and that they have so many fun traditions for us to look forward to every year. We also feel very blessedvto have so many wonderful blessings in our lifes! Merry Christmas! Here a a few pictures...

We took Addy to visit Santa last night. She was so excited! She kept waving and blowing him kisses while we waited in the massive line. A little part of me thought she might be scared of him....not at all. When it was her turn, she went right up and sat on his lap. He asked her what she wanted for Christmas. She told him a train set. He said, "Oh, that is a really good idea, is there anything else that you would like?" She said, "No, that's all." He told her to go to bed early on Christmas Eve and fall asleep quick because he has a lot of houses to visit that night.
After we left she told us, "That was so cool!! He is so Magical!!" (Can she just stay this innocent age forever?) Thanks Mom for watching Crew for us!

Bonnett Fam X-Mas Party!

This past Saturday was the Annual Bonnett Family Christmas Party! I forgot to take my camera unfortunately...but we snapped a few pictures when we got home! It was a lot of fun as it always is! The family gift exchange/steal game is always a hit. Next year I am going to videotape it. Regardless, I got exactly what I wanted thanks to Addy rolling a 6 on the dice for me 1 minute before the game ended and saving us from the dreaded Santa Face. She was just as excited as I was about the gift. She keeps telling me, "Mom, I threw that dice and stole those pillows from Aunt Claire." Who was also fighting for them! (sorry Claire, but look how cute they look on my couch!...=] =] =]!)

Oh...the JOY, I love them!!

Last but not least...Here is a little Crew Love...He turned 2 months old on the 13th. It is smiling and talking and getting so chubby! (Joe says his legs look like drumsticks) I love this little guy and we are so glad that he is in our family. He has his 2 month old check up on the 28th. I am excited to see how he is doing/growing!

When we started pulling out the Christmas decorations this year, Addy was pretty scared of the Nutcracker. We decided to put him under the tree.
That night Addy called from her bed to us and asked if we had put that "thing" away? We told her yes and to please go to bed.
In the morning Addy and I went down stairs to eat breakfast and she spotted him under the tree still and said, "Hey Mom!! I thought you put that Crack Snatcher away!!" I just about died laughing!! So if you are on crack, make sure you don't come to our house this year. Apparently we have a snatcher on the loose. (Here are a few pictures of the two of them. I am trying to get her to warm up to him. He is a really cute one, I think!?)

**Four days before Crew was born, my amazing friend Whitney Robertson did a photo shoot of Addy and Rylee for Grandma Bills. (She needed a few pictures of the girls together.) She also did some pictures of Rylee for her 1st Birthday. I think they turned out GREAT!!! She always does such an awesome job!! I keep asking her how she can make my little Addy look so sweet. If you were there you would understand why I didn't think she could get ONE shot of Addy actually looking and smiling at the camera. =]

While trick-or treating with my parents on Main Street, Addy spotted another Dorothy and wanted my Dad to take a picture of them. When we got home, we were loading and looking at the pictures, when this one came up she said, "Look Mom, two Dorothy's!!!" I said, "Yeah, you two look so cute!" About an hour later, we were getting ready to leave and I was helping her get her shoes on. She said, "Hey Mom, that other Dorothy is NOT TALLER THEN ME!!"
Ummm....okay, she wasn't honey! You are definitely taller then her. =] Sometimes they need a little self-esteem boost. LOL

This Halloween was fun! We dropped Addy off to go trick-or-treating on Main Street with Grandpa & Grandma. Then Joe, Crew and I went back over when they got back and had Steak Fajita's. Addy loved answering the door and handing out treats. She was hooking everyone up with about 9 pieces per person!! Good thing they didn't have that many kids trick-or-treating this year. We then headed to Grandpa & Grandma Bills' for a visit. When we got home, Joe took Addy out to a few houses in our neighborhood. This is one of Addy's favorite holidays. She kept asking Joe and I all day what we were dressing up as. She was pretty disappointed when we didn't. Luckily Grandma Lani dressed up like the wicked witch. Addy thought that was the BEST!! We are still explaining to her why all the Halloween decorations are down now. =]

Crew J. Bills...His Story

Crew Joe Bills arrived on October 13th 2009 at 8:09 AM. He weight 6lbs/13ozs and was 19.5" long. So much for the doctor's prediction of a 8 - 8.5 pound baby. They swore up and down that he was going to be bigger then Addy. So Joe had to run out and buy a few PJ's and outfits in Newborn sizes... because all I had was 0-3 month and bigger... except for a few items that he inherited from Lincoln (Krista & Jason's little one.) Thanks guys!!

We arrived at the hospital at 5:30 am to prepare for the 7:30 am c-section. The actual c-section went well. Although, I did get sick off of the spinal block, so I spent most of the first day throwing up. (Including a few times while actually on the operating table, not fun when you can't feel anything below your neck!!) But overall I am feeling much better this time around and recovery seems much faster! Crew and I spent three days in the hospital and were released on Friday October 16th. We are so glad to be home! Addy is loving being a big sister. When she came to see me in the hospital on Tuesday she could barley wait for the nurse to finish doing the vitals on Crew so that she could hold him. I don't think she even noticed me...or said hi. =]

After the nurse was done, Joe put her on the bed and we let her hold him for the first time. She kept looking at him and then she turned to me and said, "Oh mom, I love him! He is Adorable, Cute! But.......... what kind of animal is he?" I wish I would have got it on camera! Oh the things that girl says!! And she has this thing of pulling a "Mad Face" right before you snap the picture...so the only pictures I have of her right now are her with the grumpy little look on her face.

We feel so blessed to have Crew in our family. He is such a GOOD baby!! And has the sweetest little spirt!! We love him and couldn't be happier!!!

EXCUSES & APOLOGIES...

Well, I totally understand if you aren't following me anymore!! For some nasty reason, when I got pregnant and sick, it was hard for me to blog. Even when I started feeling better, around week 25, every time I logged on to post something... instant nausea sometimes with or without vomiting! Stuff does that to me when I am pregnant...songs, TV, people, places... I just can't explain it, so I am going to say sorry and try to be better! Of course, I have had a few things that have been keeping me pretty busy over the last few months.

These for instants... not the cute little girl, but the costumes! I have been selling them on Ebay and they have done and are doing much better then I EVER expected. Thanks Mom for all of your help! I also want to thank my friend Ashley for letting me use her darling little lady as my model. I think it is due to her that they have been selling like hot cakes!)

And this...My little Drama Queen Addy and all her 3rd Birthday, Party Dress Glory! Addy turned 3 years old on September 20th. Heck, where does the time go!? She insisted on a "Party Dress" which after many shopping trips & failed attempts, she couldn't find one that she liked (yes, I said she turned 3... not 13!!!!) Grandma Lani saved the day and the party with this little number. Actually two numbers that she could choose between about 2 hours before the party! She was tickled! And the only present she wanted, "A puppy mom, just a little tiny black one!" What!?!? Call me mean, but there is no way I was going to do a puppy and a newborn. But Grandma Jayne Ann and Grandpa Steve saved the day with that present too. They bought her one that is just as close to a real one as Addy is going to get right now. It barks, begs, sniffs and whimpers. But, requires no additional TLC!! She loves it, and so do I. She has slept with it every night since. Once again, my friend Ashley saved the day with these AdOrAbLe Birthday invitations!! She hooked me up, and in about 30 minutes! Thanks ASH!!!

I also wanted to say thanks to Jason, Krista and Talan for making the effort to even come to the party. With all your little family has been though the last month, we feel very blessed to have such true friends!! Thanks again and we are so HAPPY that your little Lincoln is finally at home with you!!!!

Thanks to everyone for coming! It was a huge success equipped with a Dora the Explorer Cake, Cupcakes from the Sweet Tooth Fairy & lots of presents!! Happy Birthday Little Girl!! We love you!!

And last, but not least... preparing for the arrival of this little guy! (ultrasound picture at 27 weeks) We are so excited! I am scheduled for a c-section on Tuesday October 13th. Which is just a few days away. We will keep you all posted on the details.

Please...Don't Smoke!!!

The other day Joe and I were driving home and Addy was in the back drinking water with a straw. This is what happened next...

Addy: Look Mom, I'm Smoking!!
(Joe and I turn around and she has pulled the straw out of the drink and has it in her mouth like she is smoking.)
Joe: Where in the heck has she seen someone smoking enough to know how to do it?!?
Me: I have no idea!!! I have never even mentioned the word smoke or smoking around her!
Joe: Addy, where have you seen smoking?
Addy: Laughing!! I'm smoking!!
Me: Addy, who have you seen smoking? Who smokes?
Addy: On...Pinocchio, Pinocchio smokes! Just like this mom!

hahaha!! Trust my little two year old to pick up on the only bad thing in that movie. (Okay, besides the lying, drinking, running away from home and talking to strangers!!) I never even thought twice about it! I used to watch that show all the time when I was little. Now I know why all the new Disney movie's don't have those kind of things in them.

WILL BE GROWING BY ONE...SURPRISE!!!

I am about 13 weeks along. I had a doctors appointment this morning where we heard the heart beat (a speedy 170 beats a min.) and got a few cute little pictures. I love the one below, because you can see he/she crossing their legs, just laid back enjoying the ride. We are very excited for the new addition. I am due mid October.

Ahhh, she is so cute & peaceful when she is sleeping. I think they fall asleep like this, so that you can remember from time to time how much you really do LoVe them! Hopefully she will be in a better mood when she wakes up.

Pretty Much The Best Show EVER!!

*LOST - Season 5*

I don't watch a lot of TV...but many of my friends and family kept saying how GOOD this show was. I didn't want to start it just because of the fact that the show was going to be in the 5th season. I didn't want to take the time to watch the previous 4 seasons.
Well one night when I was all alone and bored I broke down and rented the first few episodes while Joe was deer hunting in October. Wow was I hooked!! Where had this show been all my life?!?! haha!
Over the next few days I converted Joe, my brother Ben & his girlfriend Jess. Jason & Krista let us borrow their 1st season on DVD and then Joe and I have watched one episode per night online for the last few months. We finished the 4th season about 3-4 weeks ago and have been so excited to start watching the 5th. It starts this Wednesday!!! If you haven't taken the time to watch this show...you need to. I promise you won't regret it. Anyone else have LOVE for LOST?

Today we celebrated Joe's 32nd birthday! Wow...is he getting old or what? It's a good thing that I will always be a very YOUNG 2 years & 1 month behind him! He keeps teasing me about turning 30 this year. But it makes me feel better to know, that will never change. hehehe!!

We had such a great Christmas this year! We feel very blessed!! We have so much to be thankful for... family & friends, health, jobs & the birth of Jesus Christ. What wonderful things to celebrate! Addy was so much fun this year. She was so excited. We left milk & cookies out for Santa on Christmas Eve and the first thing she said when went down stairs on Christmas morning was, "Did Santa eat his milk!?" It was so funny! We hope you all had a wonderful holiday season.

Confessions of a SUPER FREAK!!

For all of you Twilight haters...please don't stop reading my blog. I promise not to post anything else Twilight related for at least 2 weeks. =] I have come to terms with it... I am a Freak when it comes to Twilight. I can't get enough of it. I am admitting to the world that I have seen the movie 4 times and plan on going a 5th time. And who knows maybe a 6th and 7th time will squeeze it's way in before the DVD comes out. Now that I have bared my soul and admitted to being a Twilight Obsessed Super Freak, the point of this post... In the movie at the end, when Edward and Bella are laying in the meadow and the snow is falling, right before she wakes up in the hospital, a song is playing in the background that is not on the soundtrack. After my obsessive 4th time of seeing the movie, I couldn't let the song go so, I Googled it. It is Rob Pattinson. It's called "Let Me Sign" and the link is below for your listening pleasure. It takes a minute for it to get going and it isn't very long but, when put with the movie at that exact part... it's perfect! Enjoy!

Twilight Midnight Movie = Pure Madness

"It's going to be Pure Madness!" That's what the lady at the theatre said yesterday when I called to see what time people were going to start lining up for the movie. She said that she heard people talking about being there at 4:00PM!!!! That's right...4:00PM for the 12:01AM showing! We all talked and even though we didn't want to be there before 9:30-10:00 we broke down and met at my house at 6:30. When we got over there, there were maybe 15 people in line so we decided to run down to Winger's and eat. When we got back up there (around 8:00) the line had a few more...but, I was feeling pretty good about our line position. We all spent the next 4 hours playing with a Chinese Jump Rope & playing a couple games of Phase 10 & Murder In the Dark. At 10:30 they started seating. That is when the phrase "Pure Madness" comes into play. Once they ripped our tickets, we were all running. Once we were in there, women were diving over seats swinging all sorts of bags, purses, coats and even themselves to save seats. (Remember that good line position?) We ended up in the very back row on the top, with an 1 1/2 hours to spare.
I will save the movie detail discussion for those of you who have seen it! =] All in all it was a fun night with the girls with lots of laughs and Pure Madness.
Next time I will be reserving seats with Jaime & Kelly. You guys are so smart!! What was I thinking?

A couple weeks ago the Daily Herald called us (Tootsie Bug) saying that people were talking about our products. They asked if they could interview us about our business and baby items. Addy got her first baby cousin last night. Joe and I are finally an aunt & uncle! Rylee Ann was born on November 6th 2008 around 6:50pm (I think...) She weighted 7lbs/8oz and was 19 1/2 inches long. I think she looks just like Megan!

Megan did great and she looked fantastic! Rylee is beautiful and we are so excited that she is here!

After we got home from the hospital last night, Joe and I kept asking Addy if we could bring Rylee home with us. Every time she would say, "NO!! She not!!!" Addy loved looking at her and watching her get her bath but she is sure that she does not want her living at our house. LOL!

Congratulations Dave & Megan! We couldn't be happier for you. She is the cutest, littlest thing ever!! We can't wait to see her again!

Grumpy, Sick Little Witch...Happy Halloween!!

Addy has been so excited for Halloween this year. I bought her costume the first of September and she has begged to wear it everyday since. Over the last couple of months, she had perfected her witch laugh and learned how to cast a spell with her special "Witch Lawned" (Witch Wand)
But to my surprise Addy woke up at 1:00am on Halloween Eve with a bad cold. All stuffed up and running a fever. She was up all night! So you can imagine what our day was like today. She was so excited but too sick/tired/grumpy to enjoy it. We went to the trick-or-treat on Springville main and then she came back to the house to hand out candy. After a few knocks she kept saying "Mommy, Addy Jayne trick-or-treat?" I felt so bad... so I gave her some Motrin and we headed out to a couple houses in our neighborhood. She loved it, so I was glad we ventured out.
Halloween is bad luck for us, last year she had only been home for 3 days after being hospitalized for Pneumonia. So we didn't do much last year either to say the least.
Here's to next year and to a healthy, Happy Halloween!!

Addy's birthday was so much fun! Joe was out of town on her actual birthday. So we headed to Grandma Lani's in the morning for birthday breakfast. My mom had two pink balloons that she and Addy wrote birthday wishes on. Then we took them outside and let them go. (Sorry I have no pictures of that. I didn't have my camera.) then that night we headed to The Pizza Factory for dinner with Gpa,Gma,Ben, Brad & Kels. They made Addy a #2 pizza.

Then on Monday, when Joe was back, we had her party. She got so many cute and fun things. Thanks to everyone who came! Here are a few pictures.

Remembering SevenYears Ago Today...

I couldn't let this day pass without acknowledging the brave men and women of our country. Thank you for all of your dedication and loyalty. And to everyone that lost their lives on 9-11-01 & the brave hero's that risked their lives trying to save another.
This day as always hit a little close to home with me. I was living just 20 miles north of New York City in Scarsdale when this occurred. You could see the smoke from the burning towers from the house. Several neighbors and friends were in the streets crying over loved ones that they had lost.The phone lines were all down, so at first I wasn't able to contact my family in Utah or the people that I nannied for, Gary & Michelle who were both lawyers in the city. I remember wondering if I would ever see my them or my family again. With all of the planes going down, I remember thinking, "Are they going to start dropping bombs, this is a serious attack!" What a day in history. When I finally got through to Gary, he described in detail what it was like watching the towers collapse from his office window. Can you imagine?
My entire family had just came out to visit me three months earlier. And on June 11th, 2001 we had all been on the top of the World Trade Center taking pictures. Three months exactly to the date.

"You Ruined Our Whole Staycation!!"

First off I have to start by telling you about a text that I got from Ash a few days before our trip.

Ash sent (out of the blue) - "Are you bringing Edward with you?"

Me - "The book"

Ash - "Yes =]"

Me - "Of course, I don't leave home without him!"

Ash - "Me either"

We are both in the process of re-reading Twilight. I just thought it was funny.

**Over Labor Day weekend we took Jer, Ash & Ellie with us down to St. George to stay at my parents house. We had a blast! We joked about it being a "Staycation" and not a vacation, because mostly we just stayed up late, slept in, ate, re-read Twilight, shopped, golfed & hung out at the house. =]
We did attempt to go on a little hike at the narrows, but with the kids we were a little restricted. LOL. Then we thought about going down to Vegas for a day, but that one too was a little hard with a two year old and a two month old. It was very relaxing though and that is what counts.

Addy loved being on "bacation", swimming in Grandma Lani's giant jet tub and holding and taking care of Ellie all weekend. Addy even tried to share her popcorn with her.

We ended most of our nights there with a trip to Golden Spoon for some Strawberry Cheesecake yogurt with mini gummy bears in it. Joe got addicted and preferred the Cake Batter with cherries. We love that place. Remember the one that University Mall used to have? Why don't they have them around here anymore?!?!

We had to stop in Nephi and get some coolant because Ash's car was overheating. "PT LOSER"

Once it was in, we thought we were good to go. (Hence the thumbs up) But just south of Nephi, it starting doing it again. So we kept going and they turned around to go back and get Jer's car. It could have been worse. We could have been in Cedar...? =]

Read Any Good Books Lately?

I'm sure most of you that read my blog are aware of the fact that I don't really like reading that much after some of my recent posts. But after reading all four Twilight books in two weeks, I have taken in interest in it. =]

I am a little lost without something keeping me up until 1 or 2 in the morning. This going to bed at 11:00pm is just no fun!

I am looking for a few good book recommendations. If you know of any good books that would be worth my time to read...let me know.

Totally & Completly Obsessed!!

I have tried really hard to resist the Twilight Series. I knew I was doing it for a reason...So many people talking about how good it was, how they couldn't put the books down, people reading all three books in one week.
My mom and brother Ben had starting reading Twilight about two weeks ago. My brother Ben is already almost through Eclipse and my mom is halfway through New Moon. So on Sunday, at my parents house, I picked up Twilight and started reading it. ADDICTION!!!

I finished it this morning and called Joe on his way home from work to have him stop at Walmart and pick up New Moon because I absolutely could not wait for my mom to finish to borrow hers. =]
I am already 1/3 of the way through New Moon now. Wow! I don't know what makes them so good. I have never liked to read much, I am much more of a wait until it comes out on video sort of person. So I thought if I could just get through one a month I would be doing pretty good. I never thought it would be like this. I have gone to bed after 1:00am since I starting reading and I find myself, after climbing into bed wishing for just one more chapter.
I have always loved the vampire movies and the Buffy the Vampire Series on TV (I know pathetic!) So I guess I knew I would be way into them if I just gave them a chance. Definitely an obsession. I can't wait for the Twilight Movie!! December seems so far away...=[ Anyone else have the same problem?

Flaming Gorge 2008

We had so much fun this year. Addy was so cute and so daring. She rode the tube with Joe and I and wanted it faster and rougher. Grandpa did give us a couple of big waves and I thought she might be a little scared. Nope, she just kept saying again, again. I sense that we are in trouble with her. =] She loved the water, camping & sleeping in the tent. Joe and my tube ride alone was a different story. We hit some HUGE waves. With the first one we both slammed our faces on the tube resulting in fat lips for both of us and a huge bruise a crossed the top of my nose for me. Then we hit the second wave that launched both of us in the air, opposite directions about 8-9 feet. I had a pretty kinked neck and Joe swore he had internal bleeding from landing on his side. (I guess it wasn't that bad, because he got back on the next day with Jay for another ride)It was so fun to spent time with our family. The Flaming Gorge trip is a tradition that has been going on long before I was born. My Grandpa & Grandma Bonnett used to do it with my dad and his brothers and sister when they were little. Now they are bringing their kids and grandkids. Here are the pictures from the trip. Can't wait till next year!!

VACATION

We are heading to Flaming Gorge tomorrow morning, for the annual Bonnett/Miller Family boat trip. We look forward to it every year. Most of you will be up there with us...but, everyone else, we will miss you and look forward to checking in with you all on Wednesday, when we get back! One of my good friends Ashley FINALLY had her baby girl today at 4:33pm.She weight 8lbs 15.7oz and was 20 inches long. Mom and Ellie are both doing great. Ash looked fantastic!
Krista and I just couldn't wait and went to see her at about 7:00pm. She is such a little doll!! She had lots and lots and lots of jet black hair, they had it styled in a little mow hawk... I love it! She is going to be the perfect Tootsie Bug model! CoNgRaTuLaTiOnS AsH & JeR!! You did good, she is beautiful!

4 Wheeling Fun!!

Okay, not only did we do something fun today. I actually remembered to take my camera and snap a few pictures too!! PROPS!! =]
Joe's parents are camping up Fairview Canyon this weekend. We went up this afternoon and spent the day with them. It was alot of fun. Addy loved the 4-wheeling. She kept walking over to them and saying "Ride it?" while grabbing Joe's hand. She is getting so big. It seems like she has gone from saying just a few little words to full on talking and telling us everything that she needs in just a week or so.
She has been spending alot of time at the grandparents house's lately while Joe, Jason, Krista and I have been busy with boutique's and baby contests all around Utah. Anyway, this whole week she gets up in the morning and says "mama, go?" I then ask her where she wants to go. She says "My Gama's" I love that she loves them so much!!
Well, I will keep my promise and post some of the pictures from today.

I decided it was time for a change, and after viewing one of my friend's cute new blog pages, I copied her and went to the same site to get mine...Thanks Heath!! =]

Speaking of change...on Wednesday I went to get my hair cut and colored for the first time in...(I really want to say years, because that's how long it felt like) but it was more like months. I was feeling a little daring that day and on kind of a whim just up and decided to cut about 5 1/2 inches of off my hair in addition to the color. WOW! It is the shortest that my hair has ever been. I have never been the type to just freak out about a haircut. Really, hair grows back. I just wish I would have sensed the urge sooner, maybe I could have donated it to a good cause, like "Locks of Love" or something. Anyways, I like it. I wanted a change after all the drama with my broken foot and I got it!! Sometimes you have to except change and go with the flow.

Out with the old and in with the new (Except for Joe and Addy of course.) =]

Potty Time Blues

For Addy's 1st Birthday we got her an Elmo's Potty Time DVD, hoping that she would be interested in it. It was a FLOP, until now. For about a month, she wants no other movie but this one. She started saying "potty" so Joe and I decided that if we got her a potty of her very own, she just might start to use it. Well...no. She loves to sit on it (with her pants on) and she always comes and tells me that she needs to "potty" right after she has already gone in her diaper. =] I figure she will be ready when she is ready.

But for the last week or so, whenever this fun little movie ends, Addy breaks down into tears. She cry's until you restart it or occupy her time with something new. It is so sad, I normally turn it off before it gets to the end (it is hard to see her so upset) In the video below, I did let it go to the end. See for yourself, VERY SAD!! =[

Pin FREE!!!!!!!!!!!

Just a little update. I got all four pins pulled out yesterday. YAY, YAY, YAY!!!

Then the PH (who pulled out the pins) told me that I needed to be in the "15 pound" walking boot all the time for two more weeks for protection, with no pressure. On our way out Dr. Faux (The one who did my surgery was in the hallway and just happened to see me pass by on my crutches wearing the massive boot, that I hate, and I guess he surprisingly remembered me!!) He caught me at the receptionist desk and said, "Aren't you 5 weeks post surgery?" I said, yes. He said I think we can fit you with a walking shoe instead of that boot and I think you only need one more week with no pressure. I could barley contain my excitement!! Finally a light!

So by next Thursday I will be able to starting walking with the shoe (which is so much better & lighter then the boot...that you wouldn't even believe it!!) I am making a list of all of the fun things that I want to do...now that I can start getting around. I won't be able to drive until the first part of May, but I will take what I can get and be grateful for a body/bones that can heal!! HAPPY DAY! =]

See the HUGE difference? A lot easier to sleep in, that's for sure!!!

Update on "The Bet..."

I hesitated to post this because frankly, I hate being wrong. =]
We went to the doctor's office two weeks ago and they did in fact remove the cast. This is for Joe..."You were right and I was wrong!"
They then wrapped it in gauze an ace bandage and put me back in the walking boot. But, he told me still non-weight bearing for 4 more weeks. (This was two weeks ago) He said to schedule an appt. to come back in in two more weeks (today) and he would remove the pins and I would only have 2 more weeks to go, before I could start putting pressure on it and start the physical therapy. I was so happy!
Well, we went in today and no such luck. He said that because the pins are still not showing any signs of infection yet, he wanted to try and get 1 more week out of them. He also said that he thinks it will be another 3-4 weeks with no pressure!! WHAT!?!?! I was pretty disappointed to say the least.
Anyway I have another appt next Thursday for the pin removal. We will see how it goes.
Joe couldn't pass up the opportunity to take a couple pictures of my foot without the bandages. I think they are totally GROSS, but I thought some of you might find them interesting....if not, don't proceed any further. LOL!

Penguin's Everywhere...

Our little Addy has been obsessed with Penguins for months now. She has "Happy Feet" her favorite movie, penguin books, penguin PJ's & penguin slippers and Grandma Bills actually brought her a singing, dancing penguin cheerleader for Christmas. This little addiction started with her bringing a book to me with a picture of a penguin in it one day. She pointed to it and made the funniest noise I have ever heard. I laughed so hard!!! I had never taught it to her, where on earth had she picked it up? We realized a few months later that it was off of one of her Baby Einstein movies. And believe it or not she had the exact sound nailed. We have got a pretty big kick out of it. She is learning so many new words. It is fun to watch her realize she can talk and say things back to you that you are saying to her. We love you so much Addy. We are so blessed to have you in our family and wouldn't trade you for anything in the world. =]

The Bet...Cast or Walking Boot?

I really wish that I had something really fun and exciting to Blog about...but, my life to say the least has been a little (wait, I take that back) VERY, VERY, VERY boring & lame. I go to the doctor's on Thursday and they are going to cut the cast off and take out the stitches. Me and Joe have a bet to see if they put a cast back on or if they will put me in a walking boot. I know that I can't put pressure on it until the pins come out in 4-5 more weeks...so I assume the cast. The very thought that I'm not even half way through this is very disturbing to me. I an so sick of TV that I am ready to throw it out the window. Joe is home during the day until 2:30...but doesn't have a lot of extra time to get us out of the house with all of the extra mother duties he has taken on. Poor little Addy kept walking to the closet yesterday and saying "Coat" she wanted to take advantage of the warm weather as much has I did. I heard that Gma Bills took her outside to play today. I'm sure that she was in heaven!! Thank goodness for Grandma's!! My mom and dad took Addy and I out last Friday to dinner and then we rented "Hairspray" to watch back at my parent's house!! I did love the movie and appreciate the extra effort on their part...with me being in the wheelchair, it is like having two 18 month old's! I am looking forward to this weekend. Krista & I have a boutique in Delta on Sat. I am planning on making the trip with Joe in tow, and then of course, sitting in the wheelchair all day, but hey...I'm not complaining. I am OUT OF THE HOUSE! What more could I ask for!!

I'M ALIVE!! LOL!

Well after the nurse asked me what color cast I wanted... I never heard the end of it. The doctors, the nurses and of course Joe. One nurse even commented on it while wheeling me out to the car. She said, "WOW!! I am going to need two pairs of sunglassses... one for the sun and the other for that cast." All that I know is that it is my color. It's fun, it's bright and I think I deserve it. =]

As many of you already know, last week, while walking down the stairs, I tripped over my extremely long pants and broke four bones in my foot. Because the embarrassment of falling down the stairs wasn't enough. I ended up needing surgery and pins put in. I am going in tomorrow at 9:00 am to have this done. I don't know why I am freaking out!? I guess it could be, that I have watched way too many episodes of "ER" reruns and if you don't know, that show always has the worst case scenario. Even though I will have to spend the next two weeks in bed and then the next six weeks after that walking with crutches, not driving, using a shower chair, sadly asking for one of the Walmart motorized wheelchairs to grocery shop and not being able to take care of little Addy. I have pulled several very positive things from this experience. I will never take my feet for granted ever again or for the ability to walk without thinking about it. I have the most amazing family and friends!! Joe started the night shift at work, so that he could be home during the day to take care of Addy and I. It has been a 24 hour job for him. I appreciate and love you so much!!! I also can't even tell you how much Joe's parents and my parents have helped out. They have taken Addy every night after Joe goes to work. Bathed her, feed her, read her books, loved her up and put her to bed. Love you guys!! I couldn't do this without you!! Little Addy...thanks for the many kisses on the foot and the concerns you had with me walking on my crutches. You are the sweetest girl ever and I LOVE YOU TO PIECES!
So many of my friends have offered to help out with dinners and babysitting...Krista, Ash, Katie, Kristy, Holly, Nicole, Heather... you guys are the BEST!! I am so blessed to have you in my life. Thank you so much for your friendship!! When I read back through this, it really sounds as if I am not going to make it out of this alive! LOL! I just want you all to know how much your concern has helped me! Here's to tomorrow and finally... the road to recovery! =]

So...I have to admit, I have spent several hours checking out our family & friends DARLING blogs! They are so much fun!! I love catching up on all of your lives and seeing all of your cute pictures. I decided to start one of our own little family, hoping that everyone would be interested in checking us out. I don't know... in the back of my mind, I keep thinking...what if no one is interested in us? Or what if I don't have any friends to add?
